On Dec 29th, the Stewarts shot 5251 free throws and made 3002 of them in an effort to raise money for "Hands at Work." Thanks to the generous donations of "celebrity" participants and supporters, over 625 GBP (~$1000) was raised for the organization that encourages and supports local communities in Africa, visits sick patients in their home, and plays with orphaned children.

We visited Madejski Stadium in Reading for our first professional rugby game at the end of October, 2011. We saw the home team, the London Irish, defeat the visitors from Bath.

The absence of rain gave Diana and the kids more opportunity to shop!

We usually make the kids do silly things like pose under statues. C'mon, you do it to your kids, too!!!

We enjoyed dinner at a restaurant recommended by a friend in England. Can you guess his name?

The weather cleared for a while in the afternoon and we finally enjoyed a ride through San Marcos and in the Grand Canal

On our first day we thought the "tables" stacked along the alley ways and in St Mark's Square were left over from a special occasion. We realized the next day, while it was still raining, that they're used to form a path over flooded areas!
This gentleman sewed the kid's names on towels, hats and other items

To avoid some of the rain, we travelled by boat to Murano and spent a couple hours watching them make glass (see the furnace) and taking the obligatory tour through the shop

We arrived in Venice on Oct 24, 2011 and departed on the evening of Oct 27th. We endured a light rain for all but the last day, however, on the positive side, there were far fewer tourists than in the summer. We stayed on San Marcos and visited St Mark's Square on the first day (above).

She'll probably try to convince you these pictures are associated with "Wacky Day" at school, but we know this is typical of her normal daily wear!

Very cute!!!

Our day ended with a little shopping in Lyndhurst where Al bought a remote-controlled helicopter. Cool!!

We stopped several times for the horses wandering through the New Forest
Al's parents visited in Oct, 2011 and spent a day in the New Forest.
